High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Carbaryl .
Carbaryl , also known as Sevin and 1-naphthyl methylcarbamate, is an insecticide that works as a cholinesterase inhibitor. Carbaryl is highly toxic to zooplankton and works on both targeted and beneficial insects. It is classified as a potential human carcinogen.
Carbaryl can be retained on Newcrom B mixed-mode column in HPLC analysis with an isocratic method by using a mobile phase of acetonitrile (ACN) and water with ammonium formate (AmFm) as buffer, making the analytical method MS-compatible. Can also be UV detected at 280 nm.
