High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Azithromycin .
Azithromycin is an antibiotic used in the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is on the WHOs list of essential medicines and is classified as critically important. In reversed-phase HPLC, it generally exhibits significant tailing. The tailing can be substantially reduced by using a mixed-mode Primesep SB column with a simple MS-compatible mobile phase of water, acetonitrile (ACN) and ammonium formate (AmFm) buffer.
| Column | Primesep SB, 4.6 x 150 mm, 5 µm, 100 Å, dual ended |
|---|---|
| Mobile Phase | MeCN/H2O – 15/85% |
| Buffer | AmFm pH 3.0 – 50 mM |
| Flow Rate | 1.0 mL/min |
| Detection | CAD |
