High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Imidazolidinyl urea .
Imidazolidinyl urea is a preservative with the chemical formula C11H16N8O8 . used in cosmetics as due to its antimicrobial properties. It is active against a broad spectrum of gram positive and gram negative bacteria, yeast and molds.
Imidazolidinyl urea can be retained in HPLC using a SHARC1column, which uses hydrogen-bonding as a separation mechanism. The isocratic method uses a mobile phase of acetonitrile (ACN) and water. Imidazolidinyl urea can be monitored by low UV (210 nm), ELSD, CAD or LC/MS.
