Description

· High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Prednisolone

Prednisolone is a steroid hormone with the molecular formula C 21 H 28 O 5 . It is a synthetic version of natural hormones as well as a corticosteroid medication and is used to reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system. Some of the conditions that it treats include: allergic reactions, autoimmune diseases. respiratory illnesses, skin conditions, and certain blood disorders.

Prednisolone can be retained and analyzed using the Primesep 100 stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a simple mobile phase consisting of water and acetonitrile (MeCN) with a sulfuric acid buffer. Detection is performed using UV.
