Description

· High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Metronidazole

Metronidazole is an antibiotic with C 6 H 9 N 3 O 3 molecular formula. It works strongly against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. It is available as oral tablets, capsules, topical gels, and injections. To truly kill bacteria and prevent infection, a full course of the medication must be completed as prescribed by a doctor.

Metronidazole can be retained and analyzed using the Newcrom R1 stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a simple mobile phase consisting of water and acetonitrile (MeCN) with phosphoric acid as a buffer. Detection is performed using UV.
