Description

· High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Centralite

Centralite is an organic compound with the chemical formula C 17 H 20 N 2 O . It is used primarily to stabilize smokeless powder. In forensics, it is detected by GunShot Residue analysis. It is used as fuel burns when a gun is fired. It can be found on a suspect or crime scene using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Centralite can be retained and analyzed using the Newcrom R1 stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a simple mobile phase consisting of water and acetonitrile (MeCN) with phosphoric acid as a buffer. Detection is performed using UV.
