Description

· High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Ketoconazole .

Ketoconazole , also known as Nizoral , is an antifungal compound with the chemical formula C 26 H 28 Cl 2 N 4 O 4 . It is used to treat dandruff and is commonly available as a shampoo. It is applied to skin to treat other fungal infections. Ketoconazole also has antiandrogen and antiglucocorticoid properties. It works through interfering with the fungal synthesis of ergosterol and other enzymes. You can find detailed UV spectra of Ketoconazole and information about its various lambda maxima by visiting the following link.

This application describes a normal-phase chiral HPLC method for the separation of Ketoconazole enantiomers using SIELC’s Cyralis AM chiral column. Cyralis AM is an amylose-based chiral stationary phase (CSP) designed for enantiomeric separations, optical purity testing, chiral impurity analysis, and stereoisomer characterization in pharmaceutical, chemical, agrochemical, and fine chemical applications.

Ketoconazole can be retained and analyzed using the Cyralis AM stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a mobile phase consisting of Hexane, Ethanol, and DEA. Detection is performed using UV.
