Description

· High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Fluoxetine .

Fluoxetine is an antidepressant in the SSRI class with the chemical formula C 17 H 18 FNO . It is used to treat major depressive disorder, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and more. It is the eighteenth most prescribed medication in the United States.

This application describes a normal-phase chiral HPLC method for the separation of Fluoxetine enantiomers using SIELC’s Cyralis nonporous chiral columns. The nonporous kit is a collection of AL, CL, AM and CM nonporous phases designed for ultrafast enantiomeric separations, optical purity testing, chiral impurity analysis, and stereoisomer characterization in pharmaceutical, chemical, agrochemical, and fine chemical applications. For best results, the sample should be prepared fresh for analysis. These nonporous applications are designed to demonstrate baseline resolution of certain racemates even on very short, low-capacity columns.

Fluoxetine can be retained and analyzed using the Cyralis Screening Kit stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a mobile phase consisting of hexane, IPA, and DEA. Detection is performed using UV.
