Description

· High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Doxylamine .

Doxylamine is an antihistamine with the chemical formula C 17 H 22 N 2 O . It is a common treatment for insomnia and allergies. When taken together with Vitamin B, they can treat morning sickness in pregnant women. It is very widely used as a sleep medication. Due to being a potent anticholinergic, it can cause delirium when taken at high doses. It works primarily as an antagonist of the histamine H 1 receptor. You can find detailed UV spectra of Doxylamine and information about its various lambda maxima by visiting the following link.

This application describes a normal-phase chiral HPLC method for the separation of Doxylamine enantiomers using SIELC’s Cyralis nonporous chiral columns. The nonporous kit is a collection of AL, CL, AM and CM nonporous phases designed for ultrafast enantiomeric separations, optical purity testing, chiral impurity analysis, and stereoisomer characterization in pharmaceutical, chemical, agrochemical, and fine chemical applications. For best results, the sample should be prepared fresh for analysis. These nonporous applications are designed to demonstrate baseline resolution of certain racemates even on very short, low-capacity columns.

Doxylamine can be retained and analyzed using the Cyralis Screening Kit stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a mobile phase consisting of hexane, IPA, and DEA. Detection is performed using UV.
