Description

· High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Dichlorprop .

Dichlorprop is a chlorophenoxy herbicide with the chemical formula C 9 H 8 Cl 2 O 3 . It is used to kill annual and perennial broadleaf weeds. It is widely used within the United States. It works through increasing cell wall plasticity, biosynthesis of proteins, and the production of ethylene which leads to excessive cell division and therefore damage to vascular tissue. It is acutely toxic, but is a severe eye irritant. You can find detailed UV spectra of Dichlorprop and information about its various lambda maxima by visiting the following link.

This application describes a normal-phase chiral HPLC method for the separation of Dichlorprop enantiomers using SIELC’s Cyralis AM chiral column. Cyralis AM is an amylose-based chiral stationary phase (CSP) designed for enantiomeric separations, optical purity testing, chiral impurity analysis, and stereoisomer characterization in pharmaceutical, chemical, agrochemical, and fine chemical applications.

Dichlorprop can be retained and analyzed using the Cyralis AM stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a mobile phase consisting of Hexane, IPA, and TFA. Detection is performed using UV.
