HPLC Method for Analysis of Tamsulosin Chromatogramm

Tamsulosin is chemically 5-{(2R)-2[{2-(2-ethoxyphenoxy)ethyl} amino]propyl}-2-methoxybenzene sulfonamide and a selective α1 adrenoceptor blocking agent. It is used to treat BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia). The treatment is associated with a low rate of serum aminotransferase elevations. Primesep 200, a reverse phase column, contains embedded acidic ionizable groups and can retain Tamsulosin. The method is UV compatible and can be used as a general approach for analyzing similar compounds.
