Strychnine are colorless to white crystals used as a rodenticide and pesticide . It can kill small vertebrates such as birds and rodents. The chemical is toxic if swallowed, or absorbed through the eyes or mouth . It also produces toxic oxides of nitrogen if combusted. Primesep 200, a reverse phase column , contains embedded acidic ionizable groups and can retain Strychnine. The method is UV compatible and can be used as a general approach for analyzing similar compounds.
